Betty Jean (Carr) Fox was born on September 7, 1928 in Amarillo, Texas and passed away on April 28, 2013, at the age of 84. She was the daughter of Richard Stevens and Laura Elizabeth (Webb) Carr.

Betty graduated from Classen High School and attended OCU. She married Chester Fox and to this union one daughter was born, Cathy. She spent most of her life as a homemaker but worked for many years at Hummel Eye Associates, where she made many friends.

Before the loss of her husband, she and Chester enjoyed playing cards together and were a part of some card clubs. Betty also enjoyed flowers, pets, shopping for clothes and doing crossword puzzles. Betty was "sophisticated" and was an impeccable organizer - from keeping records to making sure her home was spotless and her workplace well-decorated for holidays. She was an avid reader, particularly of biographies. She adored her daughter and "favorite son-in-law" and it is no secret that her greatest love was her grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Chester Fox. Betty is survived by her daughter, Cathy Armstrong and husband, Jim; two grandchildren: Jimmy Armstrong and Morgan Chrisman and husband Ryan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 2, 10:00am in Resurrection Cemetery.
