Delmar R. Archibald Services: Thurs., May 19, 10:30 a.m. Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., for Delmar R. Archibald, 78. Rev. Tom White will officiate at the service. Mr. Archibald was born in Taft on June 30, 1926 and passed away in Taft on May 16, 2005. Mr. Archibald played basketball and football and graduated from Maricopa High School in 1944. He married Joy A. LaBrut on August 9, 1946. Mr. Archibald served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following in his fathers footsteps, Mr. Archibald continued in the capacity as superintendent for Tannehill Oil Company for many years. He was an avid hutner and fisherman and enjoyed motor sports especially NASCAR. Mr. Archibald was preceded in death by his parents, Edson and Minnie Archibald. His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joy Archibald of Taft; his children and their spouses, Gay and Ken Anderson of Taft, Don and Debra Archibald of Grover Beach, and Bob and Lori Archibald of Maricopa; his grandchildren, Kristin Anderson and her husband, Mike of Oceano, Julio Franco and his wife, Rachael of Bkaersfield, Amiee Franco of Bakersfield, and Derick Archibald and his wife, Lacy of Fellows; his great-grandchildren, Ariel and Jaylynn Franco of Bakersfield. There are no visitation hours scheduled and the arrangements are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Mr. Archibalds name be made to Optimal Hospice, P.O.
