Services for Mrs. Vera K. Jordan will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverends Robert Barker, Danny Garner and Leland Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Frazier Cemetery, Prospect Community.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Jordan, 90, of Dry Prong when home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 02, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She loved the Lord and loved sharing her Christian faith with others. She also wrote poetry about her faith in God. She was formerly a secretary at Cotton Brothers and she was the first woman Bus Driver at Pollock Elementary in Grant Parish until she retired with over 15 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford M. Jordan; parents, Dave A. and Blanche McKenzie Kelley; brothers, Jack Cohn, Jimmy Cohn, Louis "Louie" Cohn; Frank Morris.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Darrel B. Jordan and wife, Regina; daughter, Sylvia Jordan Murrell and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Phillip Murrell and wife, Blayne, Kelley Cook and husband, Kevin, Krista Jordan and Joel Jordan; great grandchildren, Kaylie, Kohl and Kade Cook.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Murrell, Kevin Cook, Roy Roesler, Jason Ross, Jason Olinde and John Delrie.
