Ms Gregorieff was a child prodigy who had several poems published when very young. A quotation from one of these poems ("All people are made alike. They are made of bones, flesh and dinners. Only the dinners are different") has been collected in many anthologies, although her maiden name is usually misspelled as Cheney.

Mrs. Weda Cheyney Gregorieff, 94, died May 1, 2013.
Interment will be held at a later date in West Chester, PA.
Mrs. Gregorieff was born in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Ralph and Louise Cook Cheyney. She had been a resident of Aiken since 1974.
Weda believed strongly in the role of military spouses. She followed her beloved husband, Igor, around the world in their service to their country. She loved her animals, art, poetry, gardening and genealogy. Her extensive charity work continued throughout her time in Aiken. She saw the world through an artist's eye, seeing beauty and color everywhere. She was an educated world traveler and her stories entertained all who knew her. She will be sorely missed by friends and family.
Survivors include her brother, Trent Cheyney, San Antonio, TX, and numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Igor A. Gregorieff.
