NOTE: I'm in the process of trying to verify Considers date of birth and death-if possible-he's also been listed as born in Jan.
Consider and Rachel Benedict were married March 3, 1772 at the Congregational Church, Cornwall, CT by Hezekiah Gold. (After Rachel's death, Consider married the widow Sylvia Barstow, discussed below).
According to the Barbour Collection of Connecticut Town Vital Records, White, Lorraine Cook, ed. and records at the Cornwall Town Hall, the children of Consider and Rachel were all born at Cornwall, CT as follows:
Hannah b. Feb 10, 1773
Asenath b. Jan 11, 1775
William b. Feb 27, 1777
Benjamin b. Aug 30, 1779
Fredric b. Dec 15, 1781
Olive b. Nov 18, 1784
Ebenezer b. Mar 4, 1788
Samuel Benedict b. Mar 24, 1791
Rachel b. Jan 12, 1794
Barbour Vital Records indicate that after Rachel's death Consider married a Silva Basto of Sharon on Jan. 29, 1795, by Rev. Israel Holly, in Cornwall, CT. Sylvia Loring, born 20 Mar 1757, East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, first married Job Barstow. Job died in 1790 and is buried in Sharon, CT (memorial 58255143). It is a guess that the reference to "Silva Basto" is actually Sylvia Barstow based on hard-to-read records during transcription. Vital records then include two daughters born to Consider and Sylvia: Sylvia, born Feb. 25, 1796 at Cornwall, CT, and Persia, born Aug. 30, 1798 at Sharon, CT. Sylvia died March 19, 1848 in Johnston, Trumbull, Ohio. Sylvia is most likely buried in Trumball County, however, since she died some 30 years after Consider she may have married yet again and it is uncertain what her last name might have been at the time of her death. (Thank you member 47981984 for some background on Sylvia).
Children of Consider and Sylvia:
Sylvia b. Feb. 25, 1796 at Cornwall
Persia b. Aug. 30, 1798 at Sharon
