Berlyn C. Bowman, 53, of Mapleton Depot R.D., was dead on arrival at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, Thursday afternoon, March 8, 1979. Death resulted from an apparent heart attack.

Born October 8, 1925 at Burnt Cabins, he was the son of Clair K. and Hazel (Watters) Bowman. He married the former Mary R. Querry of Mapleton Depot R.D. on October 14, 1950. She survives.

He is also survived by two brothers and a sister: Joseph W. Bowman and Dorris C. Bowman, both of Mapleton Depot R.D.; and Mr.s Chester (Shirley) Booher of Three Springs. An infant brother preceded him in death.

He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Dover, Del., and attended the Latta Grove United Methodist Church, Mapleton Depot R.D.

He was a retiree from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Madden Wennick Post No. 518, American Legion, Orbisonia.

Funeral services will be held Sunday March 11 at 2 p.m. at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, with the Rev. Ashley Horne officiating. Interment will be made in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot R.D.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the services.
