Funeral services for Mr. Howard Kenneth Johnson will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 in Turkey Creek Church of Christ with Brothers Johnathon Johnson, Dillard Fontenot and Jamie Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Turkey Creek Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Johnson, 79, of St. Landry, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Ville Platte.
He was a longtime member of Turkey Creek Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Johnson; his parents, Teal and Sarah Johnson; his former wife, Allie Tabb; three brothers and one sister.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include three sons, Donald G. Johnson and his wife, Peggi of Mansura, William "Butch" Johnson and his wife, Alice of Pine Prairie and Louis H. Johnson and his fiancé, Gee Hilliard of Forest Hill; two step-sons, Gary Sudduth of Baton Rouge and Buddy Phillips of Louisiana; one step-daughter, Brenda Phillips of Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Turkey Creek Church of Christ on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m.
