Journalist, Author, She who served as the Paris correspondent of the "The New Yorker" magazine from 1925 until 1975. She also published a single novel, "The Cubical City." During her many years at The New Yorker, she wrote commentary on European politics and culture as Genêt, the articles contained observations on politics, art, theater, French culture, and various personalities. She was awarded an honorary doctorate from Smith College in 1958 and the French Legion of Honor in 1972.
