Giles Brent, Esq., born about 1600, Roman Catholic, was at Jamestown, Virginia 23 May 1625. He removed to Maryland in 1638 with his brother, Fulk, and sisters, Margaret and Mary. He served as acting Governor and Lieutenant-General of Maryland, 1643-4. In 1649 he removed to Aquia Creek, Stafford County, Virginia. He left a will dated 31 August 1671, proved 15 February 1671/2.
