McLoud resident David F. Bump, 69 passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in an Oklahoma City Hospital.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Rev. Kevin Nagle officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
David was born January 27, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri to Ralph & Dorothy Bump. He graduated from Hillcrest High School, Southwest Missouri State and Air Force Academy. He was a retired Air Force Major, worked as an FAA Analyst and was an honorary OKC Police Officer.
On November 9, 2004 he married Rita Bump.
David was a loving, caring and sacrificing man who secretly plotted to secure the happiness of the ones he loved. His family was his only treasure. His wisdom, humor, and fatherly guidance will be sorely and desperately missed, and his legacy of selfless loved passed on.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Bump; his former, but equally loving wife, Carol Bump Lyons; his children, Chantele Lyons, David Lyons, Robert Bump, Donna Harrison and Riley Bump; and his many precious grandchildren, Kathryn Schwartz, Josh Schwartz, Persua Bump, Jeffery Harrison, Eric Bump, Jacob Schwartz, Erin Harrison, Zoe Harrison, Holly Harrison, Samantha Harrison, Alistair Lyons and Will Lyons; his best friend, Steve Stanley and his wife, Tammie, and their children, Jolene, Aaron, Toshia & Bryan Stanley – who will always love him and he will remain in their hearts forever.
