My grandmother was the daughter of Wm. George Brown (1852-1895) and Lelia Nora Culp (1863-1916). She married Harry Cornelius Strawn (1888-1959) on Dec. 16, 1908. He affectionately called her Minta. They had four children-Leona Ardella (1910-1920), Marion Grace (1911-1992), Harry Culp (1918-2006) and William Austin (1925-1993).

My father recalls her as being very energetic with her housekeeping and being an excellent cook. She was a cheerful woman. She wasn't very tall and as she got older she became pleasingly plump. She loved being teased by her sons.
