Lee Crews, 27, died Tuesday evening.
He was a native of Griffin, Ga. and had been a Valdosta resident for 23 years. He was a police officer employed by the Valdosta Police Department. He had served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church and was a Mason and a member of the Police Officers Association of Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Hurst of Valdosta; two sons, Lee A. Crews Jr. And Michael Derick Crews; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Michael Patrick Crews Griffin of Valdosta; two sisters Gloria Crews Lightsey of Gadsden, Alabama and Faye Crews of Doraville, Ga. two brothers, Mike Crews of Panama City, Florida and Tommy Crews of Valdosta, Ga.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the Morningside Baptist Church. Rev. Allan Bosson, pastor of Lee Street Baptist Church, and Rev. Barry Hall of the Valdosta Police Department officiated. Interment followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites at the graveside.
Carson McLane Funeral Home served the Crews family.
