ELLIS E. ADAMS, 96, of Avilla, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Born June 17, 1916, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Clyde and Belvia (Martin) Adams. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was held as a Prisoner of War. He later worked and retired from Indiana Michigan Power as a linesman and a dispatcher. He enjoyed working on cars and going to the races. Ellis was a deeply spiritual man and a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene. Surviving him are a son, Wesley Adams of Kimmell; sisters, Delores Byall and Berniece Buckle; grandchildren, Deborah Adams, Cathy (Jim) Griffis, Rebecca (Thomas) Clendenen, Laurie (Dave) Beck, Cynthia (Randy) Christo, Janet Wagoner, and Mike (Ann) Adams; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and daughters-in-law, Dianna Adams and Donna Adams, both of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in passing by his wife, Josephine Adams; son, Kenneth Adams; three brothers; and one sister. Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Provena Sacred Heart Home, 515 North Main St., Avilla, (IN 46710), with visitation one hour prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
