Daughter of John Hamacher and Sarah Wildfong-Hamacher, wife of Jacob Duskin Dirstine.

Mrs. Mariah Dirstein. Mariah Hamacher was born in Green Bush, Waterloo county, Canada, October 5, 1842, and departed this life February 17, 1912, at her home on Kill Creek, Osborne county, at the age of 69 years, three months and 17 days. She was married to Jacob Dirstein, Dec. 20 1858, in Waterloo, Canada, who proceeded her to that better land, but three months ago. To this union were born twelve children: four sons and eight daughters. Two sons have passed away, one Oct. 20, 1892, and the other, Feb. 16, 1907. She with her husband came to Kansas in 1877 locating in Kill Creek township, where she had lived up to the time of her death. Mrs. Dirstein was converted at an early age and united with the United Brethren church, later joining the Evangelical
