William Mark Moss passed away on April 28, 2013 in St. George, Utah. William was born December 23, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised in Murray, UT and St. George, UT. He attended Murray High School and graduated in 1945.

William served in World War II at the end of the Pacific Campaign. He served an LDS full-time mission in the Central Atlantic States Mission from 1948-1950. It changed his life. He enjoyed teaching so much on his mission that upon returning to SLC he changed his major from Medicine to Education.

William married Pauline Palmer on March 21, 1953 and they were together for 50 years before her death in 2003. They had two children, Stephen (Kim) of Las Vegas, NV and David (deceased).

William taught school in the Los Angeles Unified School District and was a Vice Principal and Principal. He knew and loved many students. As a member of the LDS Church, William served in Elders Quorum as president, Bishoprics, High Councils, and many teaching positions. Teaching was his passion and calling in life. He was an outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, and camping with his entire family. William was a great story teller. He entertained friends and family for hours. He was truly dedicated to his family, work, and his faith. He loved and cared for his family more than anything else. He especially loved his grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.

William is survived by his son Stephen/Kimberly of Henderson, NV, grandchildren & great-grandchildren Taylor/Heather & Will Moss of Auguora Hills, CA, Hailey/Marty, Colton & Carter Larsen of St. George, UT, Garrett, Evan, & Jackson Moss of St. George, UT, Tyler Kern of SLC, UT, Blair, Hunter, & Toby Kern of Henderson, NV. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline and son David.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the Parowan City Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Parowan LDS 3rd/4th Ward (90 South Main, Parowan, UT). Interment will be at Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences also can be made at www.sumortuary.com.
