MISHAWAKA - Shirley Ann Yates, 74, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013, in her home. Shirley was born on June 6, 1938, in South Bend, to James and Anna E. (Coffey) Barnaby. She was preceded in death by her parents. On August 19, 1953, in South Bend, she married LeRoy Yates, who preceded her in death on June 27, 1994. Surviving are her daughters, Debra L. (Ray) Lyvers of Mishawaka and Tracy Ann (Jeff) Michels of Mishawaka; sons, Dennis (Donna) Yates of Mishawaka, James Yates of Mishawaka, David (Debbie) Yates of South Bend and Joseph LeRoy (Phyllis McDonough) Yates of Epping, NH; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Shirley worked for Uniroyal for 30 years, and then she worked for Osco's and Sam's Club before retiring in 2011. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 15, in the funeral home, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
