childhood and most of his adult life
farming with his family and raising
horses. After retirement he moved
to town where he and his wife spent
their remaining years.
On February 14, 1912 he was
united in marriage with Effie Vie
Ellis and to this union four children
were born: Fred Ellis, Donald
Eugene, DeLoss Dean, and Ruth
Aileen. Preceding him in death were
his wife Effie, and sons Fred E. and
DeLoss D., also his parents, one
sister and five brothers. He is
survived by two children, Donald E.
of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs.
Verlyn (Ruth) Miller, of Early,
Iowa, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren
and 2 great-great
grandchildren and a host of friends.
