Obituary:
A.J. Butt Is Dead. His Sufferings Ended at Three o'clock This Afternoon

A.J. Butt, whose serious illness has been mentioned, died at 3 o'clock this afternoon. His sickness dates back for many months, and was due to Bright's disease. For a number of years Mr. Butt was employed as a fireman on the Erie, but his declining health made it necessary for him to seek lighter work. He was given a position in the shops, but in time he was compelled to abandon this and quit work entirely. He became very heavy in his later years, and it was with much difficulty that he was able to get about. Had Mr. Butt lived until next Sunday he would have been fifty-five years old. He was twice married, and leaves a wife and four children. The children are by his first wife, who died several years ago. No arrangements have been made for the funeral. (Thurs., July 7, 1905; The Huntington [IN] Herald).

An alternate obituary states that he was also survived by two half brothers, Charles[Brown] of this city[Huntington, IN] and James[Brown] of Kokomo.
