Charles G. Craig was the son of Robert L. and Ruth Allen Craig. He attended school in Windsor and was working in Charlestown, New Hampshire when he enlisted in Co. E of the Vermont National Guard in Bellows Falls, Vermont. On March 7, 1942 he left for Camp Blanding, Florida and later to Camp Shelby, Mississippi, and Fort Ord, California.
Cpl. Craig went on to serve with the 43rd Infantry Division in the South Pacific Theatre of War. He was killed in action on Rendova Island, July 2, 1943 and was first buried at Munda Airport and later brought home.

He was survived by his parents, six sisters and seven brothers.
