Billy Morris Gattis, 83 of Benton, Kentucky died on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. He was retired as a self employed carpenter and was of the Church of Christ Faith. Mr. Gattis was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict.

Born Thursday, July 25, 1929 in Mulberry, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Jack Gattis and the late Floy Duke Gattis.

Surviving are wife, Margaret Ann (Redden) Gattis of Benton, KY, sons, Carl Gattis of Benton, KY and Gary Gattis of TX, brothers, Joe Ben Gattis of Fayetteville, TN and Melvin Gattis of Petersburg, TN, sisters, Marie Campbell of Fayetteville, TN and Mary Sullivan of Mulberry, TN.

He was predeceased by brothers, Jack Gattis, Jr., James Gattis and Robert Gattis, and 1 sister.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with the Elder Robert Chandler officiating.

Interment will follow in Haltom Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Collier Funeral Home.
