Word was received from south of town yesterday to the effect that Mrs. Simons, the aged mother of Titus Simons, was dead. Her death is reported to have occurred yesterday. Nothing could be learned as to the arrangements for the funeral.

Mrs. Ethel (Esther) Simons, age 92 years, died at her home, east of town, about midnight, July 4th. She was the mother of Titus Simons, and death was caused by the advanced age. The funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. Simons, one of the old settlers of this community, passed quietly away Tuesday to sleep her last sleep. She was ninety-three years of age. She leaves four children to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held at the house and the remains were interred in the Salem cemetery. The family has the sympathy of the community in their hour of bereavement.
