Funeral services celebrating his life will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial with full military honors will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the family.
Arthur was born June 24, 1930, in Springfield, Ark. He married Bertha Lucas on Feb. 27, 1952, in Davenport. They later divorced but remained best friends.
Arthur served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, 1952-1954. He worked for the Annie Wittenmyer Complex, Aladdin's Castle and retired from Oscar Mayer after 30 years of service. In years past, Arthur enjoyed working on cars and fishing. He was a foster parent for many years. Arthur cherished his time spent with his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Albert (Diane) Honeycutt of Philadelphia, Mo., Alan Honeycutt of Davenport and Terry (Lisa) Honeycutt in Bettendorf; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, special friend, Bertha, one son, Arthur E. Honeycutt, four brothers, Hubert, Tom, Jay and Houston, and two sisters, Ruby and Lorraine.
