Graveside services for Heather Lea Hayes, age 51, of Shreveport will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Pines Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Dr. Larry Stafford.
Ms. Hayes was born July 18, 1961 in Shreveport LA and passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 28, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her brother: Jason B. Hayes; father: Dr. Joe Ben Hayes; grandparents: Atlas and Marion Pierce and Joe C. and Ethel Hayes; and step grandfather: R.E. McNabb.
Heather attended schools in San Angelo, Texas and Ruston, Louisiana. She graduated from Byrd High School in 1980. She attended NLU in Monroe, LA.
She is survived by her beloved son: Sawyer Lee Cheesman; friend: Dan Cheesman; mother and step-father: Sherry and Ron McNabb; half-brother: Josh Hayes; step-brothers: Jarrod Franklin and Jimmie Franklin; step-sister: Andrea Kaminski and Rhonda McCartt and husband Mark; step-brother: Kevin McNabb and wife Missy: nephews: Jacob and Pierce Hayes, Evans and Miles McCartt and Bennett and Truman McNabb; Aunt Connie and Doctor Simeon Wall, Aunt Marion and Leroy Deckelman, Uncle Bill and Aunt Gloria Pierce, Aunt Diane McNabb ; Uncle Ralph and Aunt Jimmye McNabb; cousins: Dr. Wendi LaBorde and daughter, CeCe, Dr. Brandie Martin and husband, Trey and Jake McNabb and wife, Tiger; great uncle: IB and Aunt Melba Hayes and cousins: Kandy and Karen; also survived by her dear friend: Kim Walker Hudson.
