Hilda Jane Smith, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away at Doey's House on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born on Nov. 29, 1931, in Saxton, Hilda was the daughter of the late David and Emma Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Martin Smith, Sr.; her daughter, Karen Moore; six brothers; and three sisters.
Hilda graduated from Saxton High School in 1949 and worked for Washington County Hospital as a unit clerk for 25 years. She loved gardening and cooking big holiday meals for her family. She was a Christian and attended Washington Square United Methodist Church for a number of years.
Hilda is survived by her son, Charles Martin Smith Jr.; her grandchildren: Cathleen, Michael, and Christopher; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service held at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, Md.
Rest Haven Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
