Born & raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Frederick and Pearl(McKay) Barbour.
He lived there most of his life. He was a milk deliveryman for H.P. Hood Milk Co. in Salem and later in Charlestown for more than 25 years, retiring in 1984. Later he was employed at the former Lechmere Store in Liberty Tree Mall, Danvers, for six years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII who served as a tech sergeant in the Rhine, Germany.
Survivors: his wife, s daughter & son-in-law, Donna E. & Leo Gauthier of Salem; a sister & brother-in-law, Jean and Karl Beal of Newark, Vt.; three grandchildren, Donald V. Gauthier of Pesbody; Leanne Gauthier of Salem and Mrs. Eileen R. (John) Crowley of Beverly, and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Warren Barbour, Gladys Lindsey and Helen Picard.
Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Salem.. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
