Paul grew up in Aberdeen, MS and was a graduate of the Vernon, Alabama High School. He married Biddie L. Gilmore in Aberdeen, November 6, 1958 and they moved to Texas in 1966. He retired as an employee of Otis Engineering in 1986.
An avid sports fan, he had a special delight in baseball games and car racing. The grandchildren were also a priority in his interests. Paul was also a member of the Webb Chapel Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, four brother and two sisters, Paul is survived by his wife Biddie of the home; a son, Paul D. Cantrell, Jr. and his wife Elena of Corpus Christi, TX., and a daughter, Connie Fox and her husband, Jeff of Corinth; five grandchildren, Clayton Fox, Olivia Fox, Cole Cantrell (and grand-daughter-in-law, Laura Gomez), Jennifer Cantrell and Alexandra Cantrell; one great, grandchild, Avia Cantrell; a brother, Richard Cantrell of Pear River, LA.; and two sisters, Doris Burt of Dallas and Lois Wood of Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Rhoton Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday. Interment will be in Hilltop Memorial Park.
