Danny Ray Owens, 49, of Greene County, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his home.

He was a construction equipment operator and a member of the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his fiancé: Kassie Silver Messer of Greeneville; five daughters and three sons-in-law: Rene Hickman of Morristown, Amanda and Brandon Norton, Sarah and Joe East, Danielle "Duke" Owens, all of Greeneville, and Dawn and Travis Rogers of Mohawk; seven grandchildren: Emily, Tyler and Haley Hickman, Hunter and Autumn Norton, Kadance and Kaelyn Rogers; one sister: Nellie Hess; three half-brothers: Todd "Timmy" Lyons, Lee Scudgington and Jimmy Scudgington; former wife: Teresa Owens Martin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends.

He was the son of the late Kie and Rebecca "Coot" Dockery and was preceded in death by his biological mother, Katherine Owens Rader, special father-in-law, Rev. Buddy Johnson, and maternal grandparents, Bill and Dorothy Owens.

The family extends a special thanks to Hobert and Mary Owens, Rocky Luster, Janie Garrett, and Henry Martin.

The family will receive friends 2-6 p.m. Monday and 4-7 pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Ray Shelton and Rev. Jay Hugh Jennings officiating.

The body will be cremated.

Inurnment will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery Thursday for the service
