Herbert Hoover Maxwell, age 67, of Belvidere, died March 12, at Harton Regional Medical Center. He was a minister at Lexie Crossroads Baptist Church. Mr. Maxwell was the son of George W. and Alta Fanning Maxwell and was a native of Princeton, Alabama. Mr. Maxwell was also a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Lexie Crossroads Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Travis, and two brothers, Hugo and James Maxwell. Survivors include his wife, Opal Lovena Maxwell of Belvidere; two sons, Gary Maxwell of Belvidere, and Dwight Maxwell of Huntland; two sisters, Polly Wagoner of Gary, Indiana and Elva Green of Elkhart, Indiana; a brother, Winston Maxwell of Belvidere; and two grandchildren. Services were conducted Saturday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m. from Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Gardner officiating. Interment in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in charge.
