ONE DEAD, TWO HOSPITALIZED IN TRAFFIC COLLISION MONDAY

A Broken Bow man became the county's 12th traffic fatality when he died Monday in a collision south of Idabel. The collision also hospitalized two other people.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, George B. Park, 64, of Tom was northbound on U.S. 259 about two miles south of Harris when his pickup truck collided left front to left front with a southbound pickup driven by Jeremy Alford, 25, Broken Bow.

The accident occurred at 12:30 p.m., the patrol said.

Alford was trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle for 45 minutes until freed by Idabel Fire and Rescue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in his pickup, Amanda Lee Horn, 22, of Broken Bow was taken by ambulance to St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

Hospital officials list her in stable condition today.

A second passenger, Kalein Ross, 3, the daughter of Amanda Lee Horn was treated for minor injuries at McCurtain Memorial Hospital and released.

Park was trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle 30 minutes until freed by Idabel Fire and Rescue. He was taken to McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel then transferred to St. Michael Hospital suffering from trunk internal and arm injuries.

Hospital officials list him in stable condition today.
