Obit- Clearfield Progress- June 30, 1930 Ellsworth Adams Ellsworth Adams died very suddenly while at work on the railroad track near Hoyt's tunnel, on June 27, 1930. Mr. Adams was one of a family of ten children. One sister preceded him in death. Those left to mourn his departure are his widow, William Adams, of West Virginia, James and Edward Adams of Cherry Tree, George Adams of Salem, Ohio; Sisters Miss Tillie Jane Adams of Kerrmore, Mrs. Clara Thompson of Salem, Ohio, Mrs Maggie Antes of Clearfield, R.D. Brief services were held at his home on Sunday afternoon, June 29, Rev. G.W. Hatch and Rev. Rachenbaugh in charge, after which a large concourse of friends and neighbors followed the remains to Fruit Hill Church, where Rev. Rachenbaugh made an appropriate address. Interment in Fruit Hill Cemetery. For a number of years Mr. Adams had charge of the work on Kerrmore Section of the N. Y. C. Railroad and his crew acted as pallbearers. He was honest and upright in his dealings and had the respect of his men, and the people of the community. Many floral tributes were brought in. A large and beautiful basket of flowers was presented by the men of the section crew. He will be greatly missed by those left in the home and also by the community at large.
