Taylor Foster Joyce was the son of Avery Anderson Joyce and Mattie Effie Studebaker Kelton Joyce. He was born on September 16, 1908 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co, AR. Taylor married Velma E. Simpson on February 11, 1937 in the First Christian Church of Perkins, Payne Co, OK. He served as assistant manager to Claude E. Leachman of the local theaters and was later employed as manager of theaters owned by Griffith Amusement Company, serving at Hugo, Drumright, Wewoe, and Chickasha in Oklahoma.

His career was interrupted by World War II, in which he served for two and a half years with the Second Armored Division in England, France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. After the war, Mr. and Mrs. Joyce purchased theaters at Pryor, Mayes Co, OK where they remained for several years, later moving to Stillwater, Payne Co, OK. Once there, they purchased College Drug. Upon their retirement, Mrs. Joyce worked at Katz Department Store.

The couple was able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on February 11, 1987 at the Sheraton Inn. The poolside reception was hosted by their children, Linda Joyce Gray, of Stillwater, and James Michael "Mike" Joyce, of Victoria, Victoria, Co, TX.
