Chester R. May, age 77, died on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Parkview Noble Hospital. He had been in poor health for the past year.

Mr. May was born on April 27, 1936 in Pikeville, Kentucky and was the son of Luther and Sylvia (Blackburn) May. He came to the Noble County area from Kentucky in 1961. He was a tapper and material handler at Quick Tanks in Kendallville, retiring from there in 1975.

On April 28, 1956 in War, West Virginia he married Delores Harmon. She died in June of 2008.

Mr. May enjoyed baseball especially watching his grandsons games. He liked to buy and fix old cars, he raised chickens and enjoyed watching Westerns. He also attended Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church in Lisbon.

Surviving him are three sons and two daughters in law, Roger and Billie May of Albion, James and Brenda May of Kendallville, Ronald May of Wawaka. Six grandchildren, Tyson May, Jamie Lidy, Chris May, Gary Patrick, Michael May, and Kaylie Patrick. Seven great grandchildren. His sister, Bonnie Bentley of Cleveland, Ohion.

Half siblings, John Paul May of Ashley; Brenda Bolen of Albion, Aileen Phiephel of Rome City, and Tammy May of Rome City.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Delores.

Funeral services for Mr. May will be on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church in Lisbon at 10:00 AM. Brother Larry Dixon, Brother Russell Hicks and Brother Morris Wicker will officiate.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 30 from 3:00 to 7:00 with a special service at 7pm at the Church.

Burial will be at Orange Township Cemetery in Rome City.
