Virginia was born April 27, 1923, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. [Robert and Agnes] Leaser. She was united in marriage to Mr. Edward Russell Austin on July 22, 1939, in Napoleon, Ohio. Mr. Austin preceded her in death.
Mrs. Austin had resided in Harrison since 1971, coming from Berkley, Michigan.
Surviving are one son, Richard E. of Alaska; one brother, Lowell Leaser of Monroe; two sisters, Audry Day and Priscilla Belkofer, both of Monroe; a half-sister, Gladys Kaywood; a niece, Della and close friends, Thomas and Nancy Aksten of Lake Orion, Michigan.
Virginia also was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Robert D. and Russell E. Austin.
Burial services were held Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Arrangements were entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
