LINCOLN - Morris W. Pettijohn, 64, of Lincoln died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at his home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1940, in White County, the son of Ted B. and Nigal Dutton Pettijohn. He married Joyce Lascelles in 1967 in Robinson. A son, Andrew, preceded him in death.

Mr. Pettijohn retired as a prison dietary supervisor and was a published songwriter. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the American Checkers Association and Southern Baptist Church in Lincoln and volunteer at Oasis Senior Citizen Center.

Survivors: wife, Joyce; daughter, Amanda (husband, Woody) Franklin of Lincoln; six grandchildren; sister, Hazel (husband, Charles) Horton of Mountain Home, Ark.; two brothers, David Pettijohn of Peoria and Mike Pettijohn of Norris City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, the Rev. Dennis Shaw and Joel Beard officiating. Burial: Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
