FULTON — Services for Robert Barris, 92, who died Tuesday in Lee Memorial Hospital after a long illness, were held Friday at 11 a. m in the O'Brien funeral home with Rev. Harold Thomas, pastor of State Street Methodist church, officiating. Burial was In Mt. Adnah Cemetery. Bearers William Walsh, Carlyle Pomeroy, Chester Davey. Harry O'Brien and William Hill.

Robert was the son of Joseph Barris and Elizabeth Irvine. He was born at 72 Truffhill Row, Burnfoothill, Dalmellington Parish, (East) Ayrshire, Scotland.
His mother died 8 Jan 1875, and his father died 17 Dec 1881, both in Dalmellington Parish, Ayrshire, Scotland. Robert and his siblings emigrated to the US, arriving at the Port of Boston on the SS Phoenician, 1493 tons, on 7 Sep 1882. They stayed with and were raised by their aunt Eliza (Barris) Sanderson in Lowell, Middlesex, MA.
Robert married Ida May Fairbanks on 1 Jan 1896 in Maynard, Middlesex, MA. They had two children, Jessie and Nina.
