Beatrice R. "Bea" Marshall died Sunday, April 17 at Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville. She was 96.

Beatrice was born on March 7, 1909 in Warrick County to Clarence and Maude Pemberton Austin.

She was a member of the Baker Chapel United Methodist Church and past president of United Methodist Women at Baker's Chapel. Beatrice is a 1925 graduate of Lockyear's Business College. She worked for Goeke Feed Store and Shear's Department Store before raising her family. She enjoyed quilting, making quilts for her grandchildren, gardening and listening to Alan Jackson's country music. Beatrice was a baby sitter at Lincoln Lanes Bowling Center in Boonville. She dearly loved and enjoyed her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Marshall, in 1994; a son, Billy Ray Marshall; two grandchildren, Nancy Joyce Hachmeister and Jeffrey Darryl Conner; a great-grandchild, Justin David Hachmeister; a great-great-granddaughter, Alexas Sabrina Simmons; a brother; and two sisters.

Beatrice is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Paul Hachmeister, Bettye and Raymond Bracher and Emma Sue and Jerry Leonard, all of Boonville, and Patricia and Norman Christmas of Chandler; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Joleen Marshall of Boonville and Mike and Kathy Marshall of Evansville; 21 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren (expecting the sixth in May); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 21 at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel, with Rev. Karen Sureck and Rev. Bennett Mullins officiating.

Burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Baker's Chapel United Methodist Church or VNA John and Betty Charlier Hospice Center.
