His funeral was held 30 July 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Rev. Curtis Eason officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Neal Croft, Garland Croft, Mark Rigsby, Griffin Rigsby, Mitchell Griffin and Sonny Batts serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Griffin was born 03 December 1927 in Brooks County, Georgia, to the late Moody and Dassie Croft Griffin. He was a retired farmer, truck driver (Berlin Milling Company) and school bus driver. He was a veteran of the United States army and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne McKinney Griffin; and a brother, Melvin Griffin.
