C.R. Billiter, 74, 224 Donnelly Dr., died in his home Thursday at 11:45 p.m. after a lengthly illness.

He was a former president of the National Association of Railway Clerks and had retired from the Railway Mail Service in 1948, He was born in Lincolnville Jan. 18, 1882, and was the husband of Lola Sparks. He had been a school teacher in the Wabash County system and later became associated with the railway service. Prior to coming to Anderson in 1939, the Billiters had lived a number of years in Benton Harbor, Mich.

Mr. Billiter was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Following his retirement in 1948, he was active in the management of his investments and business affairs.

Surviving are the widow, Lola, and a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Billiter Fuller, Newton, Iowa.

The body was taken to the Albright Funeral Home, where friends will be received after 1 pm today and where services will be held Sunday at 2 pm by Dr. George S. Taggart, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
