He worked as a pipefitter at Mead Westvaco in Evadale, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Vaughn and Lavell Herrington and sister Frances Billingsley.

Survivors include his wife Cindy Herrington; sons David Herrington, Jr., Clifton Herrington and Christopher Herrington; daughters Cindi Michele McClelland, Heather Maine, Nicole Gibson, Jennifer Kelly and Megan Haston; brothers Rickey Herrington and Charles Herrington; sister Linda Jones and ten grandchildren.

Interment: Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee, Texas
