She was born on November 04, 1920 in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Joseph & Ida Bath. On May 11, 1946 she was joined in holy matrimony with Henry (Bud) Michaels at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wauwatosa, WI. Bud preceded her in death on June 11, 2007.
After Ruth served her country during World War II in the Women's Air Medical Corp., she was employed at The Milwaukee Sanitarium where she met Bud who was also employed there. For most of their married life they were residents of Milwaukee before retiring to Wautoma in 1982.
Volunteer work was very important to Ruth especially getting together every Monday with her 'mission ladies' and doing various fund raising activities for the missions. Ruth was an avid gardener. Her passion was her flower gardens. She also enjoyed sewing and playing cards.
Ruth was loved and will be greatly missed by her four daughters, Deborah (Gary) Klenz, Knightdale, NC., Cynthia (Terry) Martz, Wautoma, Lisa (Benedetto) Guido, Dousman, Jacqueline (Matthew) Wecker; Hancock, her eleven grandchildren; Sarah, Lisa, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Kathryn, Daniel, Timothy, Mia, Natalie, Megan and Brittany, her six great grandchildren; Grace, Olivia, Madilynn, Allison, Vincent & Michael and her sisters; Irene Gales, Jeanette Boser and Betty Blum; as well as special friends Sr. Mary Ellen Doherty and Brenda Kochanowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Ida Bath, her husband, 'Bud' Michaels, her granddaughter Justine Wecker, sons in law Tom Jackelen and Gary Krueger, her sisters Eleanore Koestering and Doris Eglseder, and her brother Donald Bath.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma. She will be laid to rest with full military honors next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
