ROY - Glen Lewis Wallace, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2013, surrounded by family in his home in Roy, Utah. He was born March 3, 1921 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Scott and Edith Pickford Wallace. He attended schools in Ogden and Logan and was married September 23, 1941 to Maxine Gunnell. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.

He served in the Army in Europe in World War II where he fought in many battles including Utah Beach on D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded in action in the Ruhr Valley in Germany, receiving five battle stars and the Purple Heart. He worked and retired from the US Postal Service in Ogden.

Glen enjoyed traveling and especially loved the northwest coast. His favorite thing to do was spending time with family and so much enjoyed visits from grand and great grand children. He was a member of the Roy 2nd Ward where he served alongside his wife in many callings.

He is survived by all of his children, five daughters and two sons: Joan (Gordon) Goble, Magna; Lerry (Brenda) Wallace, Heber; Lerene (Kevin) Tolman, Ogden; Janet (James) Mayes, Roy; Rick (Monica) Wallace, Clinton; Peggy (Scott) Poll, Fruit Heights; and Wendy Coburn, Ogden. Glen and Maxine have 29 grand children, 54 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, his sweetheart, Maxine, and two grandchildren, Lori Van Aarle and Curtis Guy Coburn.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in the Roy 2nd Ward Chapel, 5127 South 2400 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Tuesday at the church 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services.

Interment in the Roy Cemetery.
