WEIRSDALE — Judy West Rankin, 72, died April 25, 2013.
Mrs. Rankin was born in Fort Meade and lived in Weirsdale for 46 years. She worked for the Florida Probation and Parole Commission and for the family business, Point Seminole Fernery. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Lady Lake.
Survivors include her husband, Tim; son, Gregory; daughter, Tracey McKoy, all of Weirsdale; brother, Roger West, Gainesville; sisters Gayle Conley, Bartow, and Mary Wilson, Tallahassee; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Crossroads Community Church.

WEIRSDALE - Judy West Rankin, 72, of Weirsdale, FL, passed away peacefully and in the loving hands of her Heavenly Father at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, at The Tuscany House hospice in The Villages surrounded by her family and the caring staff of The Tuscany House.
Judy was predeceased by her father, Lawrence West; mother, Louise West McDuffie; and brother, Jimmie West.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tim Rankin; son, Gregory Rankin; daughter, Tracey McKoy; son-in-law, Robert McKoy; grandchildren Rebekah, Camille and Nathan McKoy - all of Weirsdale; brother, Roger West (Ellen) of Gainesville; sisters, Gayle Conley (Lee) of Bartow and Mary Wilson of Tallahassee; nephews, Lanny Conley and Kenny Conley of Orlando; and nieces Cady Garey of Crozet, Virginia, and Elizabeth Wilson of Tallahassee.
Judy graduated from Ft. Meade High School in 1958 and from Jones Business College in Orlando in 1959. Prior to her marriage, she worked in Bartow for the Florida Probation and Parole Commission. She lived in Weirsdale for the past 46 years, where she raised her children and worked with her husband in the family business, Point Seminole Fernery. She was known in the area for the many creative cakes she baked for birthdays, weddings, and other occasions.
Judy's beautiful smile and loving, caring spirit will be forever cherished in the hearts and minds of her family and all who knew her. She loved the Lord and did not hesitate to share His love with all who came in contact with her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 3:00 p.m., at Crossroads Community Church, 2275 Griffin Avenue, Lady Lake, FL.
