Catherine Staworsky Shelton age 75, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 25, 2013. She was born on April 8, 1938 in Elkton, MD and lived in Chesapeake City, MD.

Catherine was a dedicated paraeducator for 30 years for Cecil County Public Schools. Her diligent work at Thompson Estates and Holly Hall Elementary schools was committed to helping children with special needs become future students of academic success.

Catherine, a proud woman of Ukrainian heritage, loved to shop for antiquities, jewelry and collect pieces of historic architectural interest. Her dignified Ukrainian art collection included hand decorated eggs (Pysanka), embroideries and other traditional collectibles.

She loved spending her free time at the ocean and experiencing the simple pleasures in life such as gardening, cooking home style meals and especially spending time with her family.

The daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Staworsky, and wife of the late John W. Shelton Sr., Catherine was a loving and devoted mother. She's survived by Donna Shelton of Elkton, MD, Karen Brynes (Robert) of Chesapeake City, MD, John Shelton Jr., of Chesapeake City, MD, Timothy Shelton (Michelle) of Wilmington, DE and Gregory Shelton (Dawn) of Newark, DE. Grandchildren are Lauren and Ryan McCullin, John and Stephanie Shelton and Alexander Shelton.
