He died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001 at his home.
Born July 24, 1925 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Robert K. and Ruth M. Gehrett Greenawalt, he retired as an inventory management specialist at the Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Hampden Township. He served in World War II as an RDM 2/C in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, VFW Post 6704 and American Legion Post 109, all in Mechanicsburg; Euclid Lodge 698 F&AM, Harrisburg; Harrisburg Consistory; Boy Scouts of America and a vigil member of its Order of the Arrow. He also was involved with Special Olympics.
Mr. Greenawalt is survived by his wife, Jane Warner Greenawalt; a son, Robert K. Greenawalt III of Mamaroneck, N.Y.; a daughter, Beth E. Greenawalt of Mechanicsburg; and two granddaughters.
Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Friends may call Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic service Friday at 1:45 p.m.
