Ora Applewhite Henderson

A wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was 71, born April 28,
1930, in Kilmichael, Mississippi. A homemaker and a resident of Prairieville for 40
years, she died at 9;30 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical
Center-Bluebonnet.

Survived by her husband of 42 years, Louis J. Henderson, Prairieville; two sons, James
"Ronnie" Peacock, Baton Rouge, and Ricky D. Peacock, New Orleans; two daughters
and a son-in-law, Barbara Jo Henderson, Gonzales, and Renee and Charles "Chuck
Parker, Maurepas; a brother, Jack K. Applewhite, Winona, MS, a grandson and spouse,
Mitchell J. and Nicole Parker, St. Amant; three step-children and 15 step-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jeanette Applewhite; a brother, Ezra
Applewhite; and a grandson, Charles "Chip" Parker.

Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and after 8
a.m. Friday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m Friday, conducted
by the Rev. Ronald Gautreaux and the Rev. Octavia Childress.

Interment in Hope Haven Prairieville Cemetery.

The Henderson family would like to thank the Baton Rouge General Medical
Center-Bluebonnet for the care they agave her and the kindness shown our family. Special
thanks to Dr. Andrew Olinde, Dr. McKnight and the Intensive Care Unit nurses. You all
made a very difficult time go as smoothly as possible. May God bless you all, for you are
truly angels among us.
