Born December 7, 1944, at Rock, he was the son of the late Hershel Farmer and Pearl Farmer.
Wayne was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1963. He served with the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
Wayne was employed by Pounding Mill Quarry as the Scale Operator in Rocky Gap, Va. for 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Wayne loved to read, and was quite knowledgeable about the Civil War and all the history surrounding these events. He also was an avid WVU Mountaineer Football fan and loved sports of all kind.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife, Peggy Deloris Orren Farmer, one sister, Ailene Maxey all of Princeton; niece, Jeannie and nephew, Scotty; special friends, Carol Farmer and husband Randell and Jim Jackson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
Employees of Pounding Mill Quarry will serve as pallbearers.
