LUCAS W. BROWN

PORTLAND — Loved by many, Lucas William Brown, 36, of Longview passed away April 14, 2013, at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. He was born Aug. 29, 1976, in Longview and attended Longview and Castle Rock schools.

Lucas enjoyed working on cars and was a self-employed mechanic. He also enjoyed four-wheeling, motocross, bicycling, fishing, boating, camping, music and playing with his children. Lucas was kind-hearted, forgiving and always willing to help others. He was family-oriented and interested in his Indian heritage.

On Aug. 12, 2005, he married Kristen Schneider in Longview. She survives him at home. Lucas was the dedicated father of two sons, Kane Brown and Noah Brown. His son, Noah Waite Brown, age 8, died on April 21 as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. He is now safe in heaven with his daddy and mommy.

In addition to his son, Kane Brown, Lucas is survived by his father, Rodger Brown of Longview; his mother, Linda (Williams) Ritzman of Long Beach; a sister, Nellie Manning of Kennewick; two brothers, Robert Ritzman of Long Beach and Nara Brown of Longview; seven uncles; six aunts; three nieces; five nephews; and many cousins.

Lucas was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Ferrell and Beth Brown, and Burt and Myrtle Burquest; three uncles, Jerry, Bill and David Brown; and an aunt, Suzie Brown.

Viewings were held on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park and Crematory.

A celebration of Lucas' life is planned for noon April 27 at the Longshore Hall in Longview. His father, Rodger Brown, will officiate.
