Jerome M. Pessagno
Dr. Jerome Meric Pessagno, of Westport, husband of Betty Pessagno died Dec. 31 in Norwalk Hospital. He was 67.
Dr. Pessagno was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Dominic and Polla Pessagno and had been a resident of Westport for the past 30 years. Dr. Pessargno taught Latin, Greek and philosophy at New Canaan High School for 25 years prior to retiring in 1995.
He graduated and received his master's degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and in 1973 Dr. Pessagno received his Ph.D from Yale University. From 1995 through March of 2000 Dr. Pessagno was an adjunct professor at Saint John's University. He also lectured in area churches, local organizations, the University of Rome and the Sorbonne in Paris on the Middle East and philosophy.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Eric Allan Pessagno and one daughter, Claudia Emilia Pessagno both of Westport.
