Kehler, 87, formerly of Main Street, Lavelle, died Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born in Lavelle, Feb. 21, 1913, he was the son of the late William and Katie (Hornberger) Kehler, and attended Lavelle schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Before retiring, he was last employed by North Schuylkill Schools in the maintenance department. Mr. Kehler was a former member of the Ashland Area Senior Citizens, and a member of Ashland Lodge No. 294 Free & Accepted Masons. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were sisters, Minerva Paul, Sarah Mehlman, Opal Slotterback and Catherine Shutt. Surviving is his wife, the former Myrtle Mehlman, Meyerstown. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, with the Rev. Michael Eck officiating. Interment will take place in Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
