Harry Elrod, 84, of Meigs, died Sunday, February 1, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 3 at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Dion Brown officiated. Burial was in the New Bethel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cliff Martin, Gary Sampler, Clint Whitlock, Kevin Gray, Rob Phillips, George Elrod.
Born October 19, 1919 in Grady County, Elrod was the son of Julius and Cynthey Willis Elrod. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Beatrice Maloy Elrod, and a grandson, John Russell Elrod.
Survivors include one son, Johnnie S. Elrod and his wife, Karen, of Texas City, Texas; two daughters, Joyce Lynell Martin, and her husband, Cliff, of Murphy, NC, and Gloria Gwen Sampler, and her husband, Gary, of Brooks; three grandchildren, Karen Phillips, Sheila Gray, and Heather Whitlock; and three great grandchildren. Parker Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla had charge of arrangements.
